Instead, you can use the on Cell Click option to handle the event. When implementing a handling function for this event, use the object passed to this function as its parameter.First, I load up some data: After that, I’m doing some work to make my Grid View look beautifull, adding all columns by hand. But for this demo, I’ll show you the simple version, that also doesn’t work 🙂Let’s bind the data to our Grid View and have it autogenerate our columns, as well as an edit button. before that i want just using Find control and casting and then retrieving all lot code. If values are same they could notify user to change the value(give new cell value). Every one can use it to compare the new value with old ones. Please help me with writing a Row Updating function in C#, I don't know how to grab the current field's value and also get the old value for one of keys (which is Project Name for editing) of the selected row. the idea wa to don't allow binding the grid view after a post back.
Please post the code for your Page_Load method and the that handles your Update (your C# code) so we can have a better look at what's going on. Please give some references and/or details of how to. This wipes out the data provided by the user during editing (editing happens after the page load).
"test" will appear in label not "asd" as I would want to.
When I click edit on the grid and change the value of the textbox and click update the label will just display the original value of the textbox. "When I click edit on the grid and change the value of the textbox and click update the label will just display the original value of the textbox." So lets say there is "test" in the textbox originally and then I edit it to "asd" then click update.
For example a Sql Data Source, which is automatically added to your Web Form if you drag-n-drop your way around Visual Studio 2005.
The problem is, I’d very much like to do so, if ASP. But I can’t set a Data Source property or anything on the Sql Data Source!!! I probably have to read the cells on the Grid View of the selected row, find the controls, get the values from those and insert those into my Data Set.
